President Cleveland's decision to declare Labor Day as a holiday was likely to placate constituents after the controversial handling of the 1894 Pullman strike. You should have bought the item right away. Now, Amazon's computers have figured out you are interested and may return to buy it, and may still do that even if the price is a little higher. The airlines do the same thing when you price tickets online. It happened to me today, I looked at a ten dollar item last night, decided to buy, and today it cost me fifteen bucks. Sneaky bastards. Hollywood often prioritizes spectacle and drama over strict historical accuracy. Period epics tend to win big at the Academy Awards, but their relation to real-world events ranges from artistic license to complete fabrication. These ten celebrated films delivered unforgettable cinema, yet failed all history tests. The sticker reflects a controversial theory surrounding George Floyd's death that claims he died from an overdose rather than as a result of the police restraint that preceded his death. Supporters of the theory say the circumstances of Floyd's death have been misrepresented and the officers involved were unfairly blamed for what they consider to have been primarily a drug-related incident. This highly contentious, as it challenges the widely accepted account of the circumstances surrounding Floyd's death.
The snow-covered lands of the Arctic have long been home to the Inuit and Yupik people, two remarkable indigenous groups who have thrived in one of the world's harshest environments. Among their many ingenious inventions, the humble snow goggles stand out as a fascinating example of human adaptability and innovation. I ordered a pair.

Canadian Resistance Army - Lake Ontario
Canada is not about to take President Trump's renaming of "Lake Ontario" lying down or without a fight, and the wildlife are getting involved. Plug in your headphones or turn-up your speakers and sing along.
For many Americans, it comes down to a basic question: What am I paying, and what am I getting? In a state like California, you pay high taxes, but you don't get much for your money. The infrastructure isn't keeping up so people have to make a rational choice. And it's not just families making that choice. The money is moving too. A growing number of billionaires, CEOs, and major corporations are also relocating, and they're taking their incomes, their jobs, and their businesses with them. You may have seen some of the most common types of doodle dogs that have gained popularity in recent decades. Every doodle dog is a little different, based on the type of Poodle parent (Standard, Miniature, or Toy Poodle) and the breed they’re mixed with. Gina Statutori, what a woman!

The Black Hills Expedition was a United States Army expedition in 1874 led by Lieutenant Colonel George Armstrong Custer that set out on July 2, 1874, from Fort Abraham Lincoln, Dakota Territory, which is south of modern day Mandan, North Dakota, with orders to travel to the previously uncharted Black Hills of South Dakota. Its mission was to look for suitable locations for a fort, find a route to the southwest, and to investigate the possibility of gold mining. Demodex, also known as eye mites, are tiny arachnids living on the base of your eyelashes, quietly feasting on your eyelid oils while you sleep. These nearly invisible critters are shaped like little eight-legged tubes with mouths designed for eating sebum, the crusty oil produced by your eyelids, and they’re way more active at night, which means that the irritating morning itch might not be allergies after all. 'A Prairie Home Companion' was a weekly radio variety show created and hosted by Garrison Keillor that aired live from 1974 to 2016 Saturday nights on Public Radio. The show was extremely popular, especially in the Midwest where it was aired from the mythical town of Lake Wobegon, Minnesota.
A ''Columbia''-Class of American Confederate Navy Warship, The CSS ''Texas'', was considered one of the best built Ironclads of The American Civil War. She was 217-feet long and displaced 309-tons. Steam propelled, she stood 50-feet tall. Crewed by 50, ''Texas'' featured 2-inches of iron plating over 5-inches of reinforced wood. Before she could be deployed (in 1864, late in The War), she was captured, unfinished, on April 4th, 1865 at the Norfolk Naval Yard in Richmond, VA. In the 2005 film ''Sahara'', the CSS Texas escaped from the battle at Richmond, Virginia and was able to head for the open sea carrying millions in Confederate gold coins. The battle at Richmond was real, but the iron-clad Texas was not there, only in the movie. One of my favorite films.
''Islands in the Stream'' was written by the Bee Gees but originally recorded by Kenny Rogers & Dolly Parton and released in 1983, earning a nomination for Single of the Year that same year. Rogers and Parton performed the duet together on ''The 17th Annual CMA Awards'' and were later nominated for Vocal Duo of the Year for three consecutive years from 1984-1986. Track live lightning strikes in real time across the Globe.Updated every 20 seconds. The word ''hurricane'' finds its roots in the Caribbean, where the indigenous Taíno people of the Greater Antilles worshiped an evil storm deity named Juracán. This god's name may have come from the Mayan god of wind, Huracan. The Spanish adopted the words ''huracán'' and ''furacán'' to describe the intense storms and brought them to Europe. The word eventually became widespread in the English language as European colonial powers expanded their territories and encountered these storms in the Atlantic. Nothing ruins your day more than being struck by lightning. Recently, I read about a woman camped in a tent in a National Park, where lightning struck a nearby tree, traveled down the roots that were under the tent, and killed her. Sarah says: ''Fraudulent ads are actually not protected by the first amendment, not everything is protected by the first amendment, even though we have great free speech rights in this country, it's not absolute. The most important thing is that viewers need to be really diligent when they are online, and we need better consumer protections. Facebook is just not a place to be clicking on ads.'' Read the lyrics here. ''The City of New Orleans'' was written in 1970 by Steve Goodman while riding the train, and its popularity may have helped save the railroads from extinction. Many performers have recorded this song, but Willie Nelson's 1985 Grammy-winning version may be the favorite.
Wealthy George Washington continued to live a luxurious life during the winter at Valley Forge, all charged to his Continental Congress expense account. My wife and I hit the road in our motorhome. From 2004: Mayor Daley's administration spends nearly $40 million a year hiring hundreds of trucks -- primarily dump trucks -- that often do little or no work. Some truck owners have political clout, some are mob figures or their relatives.

Everyone above the age of reason on November 22, 1963 remembers where they were when the news flashed around the world that President John F. Kennedy had been shot and killed. Everyone except George Herbert Walker Bush, who when asked years later said ''I don't recall''. See the photo of young CIA agent George Bush standing in front of the Texas School Book Depository on that fateful day. As inhabitants of an ancient city now called Tall el-Hammam went about their daily business about 3,600 years ago, they didn't know an unseen icy space rock was speeding toward them at 38,000 mph. Flashing through the atmosphere, the rock exploded in a massive fireball about 2.5 miles above the ground, and was 1,000 times more powerful than the Hiroshima atomic bomb.
If you think the Iraq war hasn't worked out very well for anyone, think again. Defense contractors like Lockheed are thriving. So strong is the bond between lobbyists, defense contractors and the Pentagon that it is known in Washington as ''the iron triangle''. And this triangle inevitably gets what it wants. After 9/11, there were indications that traders with inside information had benefited financially from the terrorist attacks. Evangelists Kenneth and Gloria Copeland already had a Citation 500 Bravo and a Gulfstream II when they told followers that God wanted them to have matching Citation X jets to help spread the gospel. Years after the 9/11 catastrophe, the Bush administration cover-up of why the terrorist attacks were carried out despite the White House, CIA and FBI being repeatedly warned of them still holds.
