It takes a big ego to continually pass yourself off as a ''doctor'' when your PhD is in education not medicine, with a specialty of children's books. But, when Jill Biden was offered the chance to be on the cover of a woman's health magazine she went for it. Jill insists that she be called ''Doctor Biden''. Her husband said the only reason she completed her degree because she wanted their mail to be addressed to ''Dr. Jill Biden and Senator Joe Biden''. Republican leadership questioned the effectiveness of these new agents but the agency dismissed their concerns as bigoted. ''They asked why they were so short and also why they kept bumping into things, and that's just not acceptable,'' Secret Service director Cheatle said. ''They are as devoted to their duty as they are physically handicapped.'' ''I can think of no one better to protect President Trump than this loveable group of misfits''.

The oil painting, which shows a man dressed in work wear standing and poised to speak amid a crowd of men in suits, is part of a series by Rockwell inspired by Franklin D. Roosevelt’s 1941 State of the Union address arguing for U.S. involvement in World War II. In his remarks, the president outlined four universal freedoms that Americans should fight to guarantee for all: freedom of speech, freedom of worship, freedom from want and freedom from fear.
It is hard to imagine how desperate a person could become for survival to rob a bank for a single penny just to be arrested and given shelter, food, and care, but this is what this man did. Republicans reacted immediately to President Joe Biden's announcement that he won't seek re-election in November by demanding that he resign the presidency as well. ''If Joe Biden is not fit to run for President, he is not fit to serve as President. He must resign the office immediately. November 5 cannot arrive soon enough,'' House Speaker Mike Johnson, R-La., said in a statement shortly after Biden revealed his decision.
Congressman Thomas Massie (R-KY) revealed to Tucker Carlson that all of his Republican colleagues have an ''AIPAC babysitter'' to ensure they vote in the interests of Israel at all times.
Jill Biden has formally dropped out of the 2024 presidential race, she announced today at a press conference that was supposed to be for her husband. ''I cannot in good conscience continue,'' the acting president said as her husband wandered around somewhere backstage. Journalists expressed shock and disappointment to learn that not only has Joe Biden been a decrepit old man for the last three years, he hasn't even been president.
On July 19, 1989, one of the most dramatic events in aviation unfolded in the skies over Iowa as heroic pilots battled to land a crippled DC-10. The seething hatred of Donald Trump knows no limits, some reporting the assassination attempt as an ''incident'' or that he ''fell down at a rally''. The far-left knows the party will be over if President Trump returns to the White House and will do anything to stop him. Aging is an inevitable part of life that brings with it many changes. One such change that is not discussed often is loss of appetite, particularly in the elderly. Many of us may have experienced this with a loved one or friend, noticing a dinner plate that has barely been touched, a lack of food in the home or weight loss in the individual. The Japanese Emperor Hirohito, who ruled over the Empire of Japan from 1926 until 1947, after which he was Emperor of the state of Japan until his death in 1980. Commonly portrayed as a gentle man with limited influence over the military and its politics. He also had surprising love of watches. When Hirohito died in 1989, he was buried with his most treasured possessions, including his Mickey Mouse watch.
Major Richard Bong downed 40 Japanese aircraft in his trusty ''Marge.'' Then, after a crash, it was lost to time. Gnomes are mythical creatures that have been a part of European folklore for centuries. They are often depicted as small, elderly men with full beards and colorful conical hats, symbolizing their connection to nature and magical abilities. Gnomes are believed to live underground and guard the mines of precious treasures hidden in the earth. Malaysia Airlines flight MH17, flight of a passenger airliner that crashed and burned in eastern Ukraine on July 17, 2014. All 298 people on board, most of whom were citizens of the Netherlands, died in the crash. A Dutch inquiry determined that the aircraft was shot down by a Russian-made surface-to-air missile. Whenever you see pictures of U.S. military combat aircraft, drones, and helicopters deployed on operations overseas, or even just during exercises in the United States or abroad, they're often loaded down with various missiles and other precision-guided munitions. It's no secret that the United States spends a lot on defense, but how much do each of these various weapons actually cost?

In 1920, ''Shoeless Joe'' Jackson supposedly admitted during testimony to a grand jury that he was one of eight Chicago White Sox baseball players who took bribes to let the Cincinnati Reds win the 1919 World Series. It came to be known as the ''Black Sox scandal'' and it was devastating for baseball fans. According to legend, as Jackson left the courthouse, a heartbroken young boy went up to him and begged: ''Say it ain't so, Joe.'' James William Buffett (1946 - 2023) was an American singer-songwriter He was known for his tropical rock sound and persona,] which often portrayed a lifestyle described as ''island escapism'' and promoted enjoying life and following passions Buffett recorded many hit songs, including his best-known '' Margaritaville''. His fans proudly call themselves ''Parrotheads''. Just before he was struck in the ear, Donald Trump turned his head slightly - a lucky head jerk that potentially spared him from being hit directly. An inch or less to the right, the shot would have almost certainly been fatal.
In the trailer for the film, ''Top Gun: Maverick'' the Taiwanese and Japanese flags were removed from Tom Cruise's jacket because it was too sensitive an issue for the Chinese Communist Party (CCP). Then, in a stunning reversal decision, they were not removed when the film was released and Taiwanese audiences stood and applauded. Personally, I'll take all the mean tweets Donald Trump can dish out, as long as I get $1.89 gallons of gas, 3% mortgage rates, control of our Southern borders, full employment, and no wars overseas. ''This is why it's so important to re-elect him,'' Pelosi said in a televised interview. ''As concerned as we may be about President Biden's cognitive health, the only reasonable answer is to keep him in office and really find out just how mentally defective he has become. It's the only way.'' Donald Trump, who left us four years ago with 1.4% inflation, $1.89 gasoline, no new foreign wars, a secure border, and a healthy economy, is, according to the New York Times, a man as unsuited for the office of president as any to run in the long history of the Republic, a man whose values and temperament are directly opposed to so much of what has made this country great.
Joe Biden's recent appearance with a spray-on tan that recalls Donald Trump's signature orange hue has sparked a deluge of jokes and memes on social media. The president continues navigating uncertain waters after his recent disastrous debate performance. Biden deflects questions from interviewers about taking a cognitive test as not needed, but everyone, including Joe, knows he couldn't pass one and he'd be done. In Greek, 'nostalgia' literally means 'the pain from an old wound,'' Don told his rapt audience in his greatest pitch. ''This device isn't a spaceship, it's a time machine''. After spending months and billions getting millions of new prospective Democratic voters into this country in time for the next election, President Biden isn't going to let a bunch of whiny Republican congressmen spoil his plans. Joe Biden is carrying debt of up to $815,000, financial records show, as it's revealed he and First Lady Jill also failed to net royalties from three of their book titles due to lackluster sales.
Most people will know all about the Salvation Army and their tireless charity work. Maybe you have fond memories of them ringing the bell with the red kettle at Christmas, or singing Christmas carols in your town center. But few have heard of the Salvation Navy. Because, believe it or not, there was briefly such an organization. A personal journey by author Scott Hays recounting Abraham Lincoln's experiences with the Sangamon River in Central Illinois. Mr Biden had planned for the presidential debate on June 27th to prove his critics wrong about the decline in his mental abilities, and so to revive his ailing campaign. Instead he struggled for 90 agonizing minutes to recall words and facts. It was a catastrophe. News organizations have identified 78 members of Congress who've recently failed to properly report their financial trades as mandated by the Stop Trading on Congressional Knowledge Act of 2012. Congress passed the law to combat insider trading and conflicts of interest among their own. But many members of Congress have not fully complied with the law, they offer excuses including ignorance of the law, clerical errors, and mistakes by an accountant.
After the disastrous debate with Donald Trump, Time Magazine has a message for President Biden: ''Do the historic thing, President Joe Biden. Give the Democratic Party our independence.'' After a noticeably carrot-hued President Joe Biden gave a live address to the nation two days after his disastrous debate with Donald Trump, top Democrat marketing strategists scrambled to suddenly change their official slogan to ''Orange Man Good.'' he frantic shifting of gears comes on the heels of several years the same team of expert political messaging strategists spent spreading the well-known slogan ''Orange Man Bad'' to combat the popularity of former President Donald Trump. This website says Bill O'Reilly is crazy for saying Joe Biden is throwing in the towel and will drop out of the race for re-election, but O'Reilly has been around for a long time, is well connected, and is usually right about things. Kids are the most wonderful, curious, and innocent beings. Sometimes, no matter how mature an adult is, a few inspiring words by an innocent child can shift one’s dimension to think and view things. The Battle of Gettysburg was fought July 1–3, 1863, in and around the town of Gettysburg, Pennsylvania, by Union and Confederate forces during the American Civil War. The battle involved the largest number of casualties of the entire war and is often described as the war's turning point. Even if these whole food supplements are of the highest quality, they are still very expensive at $89.95 for the Fruits & Veggies vitamins. That's especially true considering you only get 30 servings (6 capsule). A competing product has significantly better ingredients, some of which are organic. It also has the same 180 capsules, and sells for much less.
We may have witnessed the end of Joe Biden's presidency when we watched his debate with challenger Donald Trump. In 1862, bands of Sioux swept through southern Minnesota, burning farmsteads, slaying men and seizing scores of women and children. An estimated 650 Dakotas attacked the village of New Ulm, where the defenders fought from behind street barricades. Although most of the town's buildings were destroyed, the warriors were repulsed. By month's end, much of the white population of southern Minnesota had abandoned the region. From the article: ''We can confirm over one-third of the country is drooling morons,'' said Dr. Bradford Doran, head of the research team conducting the poll. ''While it's always been suspected that a significant number of Americans were mindless idiots, no one ever suspected that there were this many of them. It's fascinating and yet terrifying at the same time.'' I'm delighted that my children have taken such good care of their teeth and have beautiful smiles. As for me, not so much, which I regret.
Holiday Inn resident Terry Robison, a retired man of 64, says the average cost of assisted living for seniors is about $188 per day. A long-term stay with a senior discount at Holiday Inn, on the other hand, is about $60 per day. And, the grandkids can come over and use the pool. Tipping the staff $5 bucks a day makes them really hustle to make sure your room has everything you need, and you don't even have to make your own bed, something you usually pay extra for at an assisted living home. A gear-up landing is about the worst thing that can happen to your airplane. Not only do you have the expense and time to repair the damage, insurance premiums are bound to be affected, a large majority of prospective future buyers will shun any plane with damage history, and the value can be substantially reduced. A long-time aircraft dealer told me once ''I've never been able to sell an airplane with a double gear-up''. It took a while, but Donna Brazile has finally come clean: Yes, the fix was in for Hillary Clinton during 2016's Democratic primary. The former Democratic National Committee chair and ex-CNN contributor, in a piece published inTime magazine, acknowledged funneling inside info to the Clinton camp before two debates with Bernie Sanders. Locally nicknamed ''La dame de fer'' (French for ''Iron Lady''), it was constructed as the centerpiece of the 1889 World's Fair, and to crown the centennial anniversary of the French Revolution. Although initially criticised by some of France's leading artists and intellectuals for its design, it has since become a global cultural icon of France and one of the most recognizable structures in the world.
Human war machines don't tend to fare well in encounters with Godzilla, who debuted on the silver screen in 1954. However, in ''Godzilla Minus One'', a hit with U.S. audiences after its release on Netflix in June-the notorious kaiju finally meets his match in the form of a bizarre-looking fighter plane called the J7W1 Shinden. ''Godzilla Minus One'' is pretty good, a Japanese film with English dubbing, with some great flying scenes of the Shinden attacking and killing Godzilla. Chicago is a city without a single business that sells guns. Gun stores are outlawed, but outlaws have plenty. Brandon Johnson won Chicago's tight mayoral race last year against tough-on-crime candidate Paul Vallas promising he would solve gun violence. But, neighborhoods facing the brunt of the crisis are waiting for relief that can make their streets safer now. That $30,000 he spent on personal grooming during the campaign isn't helping. Between 2012 and 2022, there were 21,000 reported cases of penile cancer, according to Brazil's Ministry of Health. This resulted in more than 4,000 deaths and, over the past decade, there have been more than 6,500 amputations - averaging two each day.

The main espionage agency of the Chinese Communist Party is attempting to enlist every one of China's citizens into the role of spies. Alongside this, the CCP has also been rolling out other programs, including one that forms militias among Chinese companies, and another for the military training of school children. Questions about the health effects of loneliness have motivated an explosion of new research over the past few years, particularly since social distancing during the COVID-19 pandemic has raised new fears about loneliness levels worldwide. When do you know it's time to put an elderly parent in a nursing home? The most common reason aging parents are admitted into a nursing home is because of severe cognitive and/or physical decline that requires them to need 24-hour care. A nursing home admission makes sense when private in-home care is unaffordable or if friends or family members are unable to care for them. With the first 2024 presidential debate right around the corner, the public is eager to find out what topics will be covered and what questions the CNN moderators will ask the candidates. Even after he was caught, convicted, and sentenced to 11 years in prison, Al Capone put a contingency plan in place to ensure that his enormous wealth would still be waiting for him on the outside. Capone hid his fortune, reportedly worth millions, to prevent the government and his rivals from seizing it. Unfortunately, he and his family ultimately couldn't access it either. Look! Up in the sky! Is it a bird? Is it a chain? No, wait—it's a pair of shoes on a power line. But what are they doing there? The author of this article wants to remind you that, if you don't get shot or robbed, Bessemer, Alabama isn't such a bad place to live or visit. And, please, try to ignore those who condemn it as ''the most dangerous city in America''.
General George S. Patton was a complicated military figure, but there can be little debate over whether he was quotable. Perhaps most famous for his commanding of the 7th Army during World War II, Old ''Blood and Guts'' often gave rousing speeches to motivate, inspire, and educate his soldiers.

As shockwaves continued to reverberate around the globe following sweeping victories for the European political right, U.S. President Joe Biden asked aides why Europe didn't just arrest the conservative candidates before the election. As conservative candidates in multiple countries won by significant margins, the current American leader expressed surprise that the ruling globalist regimes didn't simply have their chief political rivals imprisoned. ''Come join us all month to celebrate heterosexuals, for without them, none of us would be here! '' Old State Saloon in the city of Eagle wrote in a Facebook post announcing a month of festivities and drink specials. Every Monday in June will be ''Hetero Male Monday,'' with a free draft beer given to ''any heterosexual male dressed like a heterosexual male''. Sounds like a good excuse for me to turn my motorhome into the wind and set sail for Idaho. Millions of dollars and years of planning and production go into making a war movie, so you'd hope they were historically accurate, right? While many movies can be applauded for their realism, some play so fast and loose that they end up becoming laughable. How low can you go? There is no audio or video to back up this claim, but Joe Biden repeatedly says Donald Trump called fallen soldiers of World War II ''suckers and losers'', something Mr. Trump vehemently denies. Trump supporters cannot imagine him saying such a thing, and tend to agree with him that this must be ''fake news'' and a low blow. What do you think?
A storm of controversy erupted on social media following the crowning of Sara Milliken, a plus-size model, as Miss Alabama 2024. Outrage quickly spread among users, with many criticizing the decision, claiming it promoted ''unhealthy lifestyles.'' Comparisons were made to awarding a prize to a ''chain smoker,'' and references were drawn to the recent Miss Maryland USA crown awarded to a trans woman, labeling both as ''fake awards''. Minnesota, and 14 other States, are not ''Castle States'', that is, you do not have the right to defend your Castle with deadly force, and if faced with that situation, your first responsibity is to try to escape from your own home any way you can. The United Nations statement: ''We have issued an immediate arrest warrant for Neeson, and vow to hold him accountable for his totally unnecessary use of violence against poor, helpless terrorists. Just because they are holding your daughter hostage does not give you the right to resort to violence.'' An Oregon man is lucky to be alive after his truck left the road, plummeted down an embankment, and ended up in a river. Fortunately for him, dogs truly are man's best friend. As Brandon Garrett lay stranded and injured in the deep ravine, his dog Blue ran 4 miles through the densely wooded area to get help.
This article is based on interviews with more than 45 people over several months with Republicans and Democrats who participated in meetings with Biden or were briefed on them. Most of those who said Biden performed poorly were Republicans, but some Democrats said that he showed his age in several of the exchanges. That’s All, Brother was the first of hundreds of paratroop transport planes to deliver their human cargo over the heavily fortified beaches of Normandy, France. In May 1942, U.S. and Australian naval and air forces were facing off against the Imperial Japanese Navy in the Battle of the Coral Sea in the South Pacific. But in a windowless basement at Pearl Harbor, a group of U.S. Navy codebreakers had intercepted Japanese radio messages suggesting Japan was planning an entirely different and potentially far more damaging operation in the Pacific theater. For 74 years, only members of a Chicago grand jury could definitively say why they declined to indict a reporter responsible for a 1942 front page article that implied American cryptanalysts had cracked the Japanese military code. Fearing the Japanese would change their code after this story was published proved unfounded, and only minor changes were made to it for the rest of the war.
Tomatoes first arrived in Europe 500 years ago, brought by the Arabs who occupied Sicily. Later in Naples, the tomato gave rise to pasta al pomodoro. If there is pasta, there must be tomatoes, and pasta al pomodoro has become central to Italian life.

Egyptian theaters were often characterized by their opulent facades which featured hieroglyphics, ornate columns, lotus motifs, and massive statues of various Egyptian gods. Stepping into one of these theaters during Hollywood’s Golden Age was like stepping out of ordinary life and into a glamourous otherworldly experience. It is plain to see what the Democrats were willing to sacrifice in order to win this election, leaving voters to rightly wonder – is there anything they wouldn’t do to win?
Bud Anderson single-handedly shot down 16 enemy planes in dogfights over Europe. After the war, he became one of America's top test pilots during the ''Right Stuff'' era. The 1998 HBO film ''Pentagon Wars'' revealed the absurdity of the development of a vehicle that could deliver 24 soldiers quickly to the front in safety. By the time the special interests in and out of the Pentagon got done with it, years had gone by and $14 billion was spent developing a product that bore little resemblance to the original plan, with hardly any room inside for soldiers. Now, the army has poured more money into this vehicle with something called ''Iron Fist''. No novel of the past century has had more influence than George Orwell's 1984. The title, the adjectival form of the author's last name, the vocabulary of the all-powerful Party that rules the superstate Oceania with the ideology of Ingsocey've all entered the English language as instantly recognizable signs of a nightmare future. It's almost impossible to talk about propaganda, surveillance, authoritarian politics, or perversions of truth without dropping a reference to 1984.
Minnesota's Democratic Farm Labor Party was formed by a merger between the Minnesota Democratic Party and the Minnesota Farmer-Labor Party in 1944. While the party claims the Communists in the organization have been rooted out over the years, some of their actions say otherwise.
It was a bitter, close election, and there were furious allegations of fraud. After Democrat John Kennedy barely beat Republican Richard M. Nixon in the 1960 election, a coalition of opponents plotted to deny him the presidency in the electoral college. Most were White, conservative electors from the South who opposed the young Massachusetts senator's liberal policies, especially his support for civil rights for Black Americans. Magnetic Rock contains magnetite, a magnetic mineral that will cause your compass needle to spin. This fact, combined with the rock's soaring 60-foot height, makes this site truly impressive. Camping is just not for everyone, especially if you are a moron.
Most GPS devices allow you to use geographical coordinates as a destination, you just have to know how to enter them. In 1924, the United States military set out to become the first to fly around the world. On April 6, 1924, hundreds of Seattleites gathered at Sand Point Naval Air Station in Northeast Seattle — now the site of Magnuson Park — as four airplanes took off from Lake Washington, beginning a history-making journey. In 1497, Dominican Monk Savonarola encouraged his followers to destroy anything which could be considered luxuries - books, works of art, musical instruments, jewellery, silks and manuscripts were burnt during the period of carnival around Shrove Tuesday. These events became known as the 'bonfire of the vanities', the biggest happening on February 7th, 1497, when more than one thousand children scoured the city for luxuries to be burned. The items were thrown on to a huge fire while women danced around it. Millions of people keep cash home rather than a savings account. For most, it's a normal part of their financial lifestyle. But there are dangers of keeping too much cash at home, and it's likely they don't give much thought to what could happen. There may be certain benefits to holding a small amount of cash at home for whatever purpose. But there are risks involved in doing so, particularly if it's a large amount of money.
In the past, free speech sit-ins quickly escalated into massive rallies, Vietnam War college demonstrations turned deadly and U.S. civil rights protests ended in mass arrests. The circumstances of each protest were different, but the story is familiar: Young people demanded changes on their campuses or in the world - and their impassioned demonstrations often escalated amid clashes with authorities. ''Open The Books.Com'' has a new groundbreaking search tool that helps answer the burning question Americans have been asking since 1789: ''what the heck is my government up to?'' While it's all part of evolution and Darwinian economics, the sad reality is that when these stores die, parts of our memories go with them. Still, it's a lesson that most businesses must learn: adapt with the times, or be lost forever. Here are the top 50 major retailers that no longer exist. In the late 15th century, when the Italian Renaissance artist Leonardo da Vinci completed ''Vitruvian Man'' - one of his most famous drawings, which depicts the proportions of the human body - he could not have predicted it would be reproduced onto cheap notebooks, coffee mugs, T-shirts, aprons, and even puzzles. Centuries later, the Italian government and the German puzzle maker Ravensburger are battling over who has the right to reproduce ''Vitruvian Man'' and profit from it.
My eldest daughter Annie and her three daughters on a trip to Canada with me in my motorhome. The stereotypes are familiar to many of us: Firstborn children are reliable and high-achieving; middle children are sociable and rebellious (and overlooked); and youngest children are charming and manipulative. Why do people have such inaccurate thoughts on these survey questions? The author blames the media, saying they run race, gender, and wealth stories constantly, resulting in you and I being brainwashed. The vaccine mandates drove many people from the industry and the lockdown-based supply chain and labor disruptions have left whole fleets in disrepair so that we have to take our chances. It’s an unfortunate truth of life; not every interaction we have is a fair one. Sometimes, we get the short end of the stick. Sometimes, we’re taken for a ride, taken advantage of, or just plain taken aback. Yes, we’ve all been there—deceived, let down, or outright screwed over. It’s a bitter pill to swallow, but it’s a universal experience that unites us in our shared human frailty.

Built in 1882, the New York City steam system is the United States' oldest and largest. The utility company Consolidated Edison uses those pipes, most of which are buried beneath the city's streets, to supply steam for heating, cooling and other commercial uses. But now and then, here and there, one of the pipes springs a leak and the escaping steam billows up through the nearest manhole, that's where the orange funnels come into play, to safely divert the steam high in the air. The White House suggested President Joe Biden misspoke when he implied that cannibals feasted on his uncle after a plane crash during World War II. Joe Biden's ability to separate fact from fiction is getting to the point where, if he were not president, the relatives would be driving him to the nursing home. Yes, Joe Biden did say his uncle was eaten by cannibals, but official military records don't support it, ''Uncle Bosie'' was a passenger in a military two-engine plane that developed mechanical problems and crashed. A lone survivor told what happened, It was out over the ocean, not over land, and no cannibals were involved, just Joe's vivid imagination.
Despite the many challenges and limitations imposed on him by his illness, Campbell was able to write one final song in 2013. Unfortunately, his health never allowed him to perform “I’m Not Going To Miss You” for any audience outside his own home. In this, his last song, Campbell evokes the devastating impact of Alzheimer’s disease, both on himself and his loved ones. At the same time, “I’m Not Going To Miss You” also strikes positive notes as it recounts a life’s worth of experiences and memories. One of our children, who knows about such things, baked brownies for my wife Hazel to help her with pain when she was fighting cancer in 2019. Here is the recipe. In this book are the confessions of a born flyer who always seems to know a tiny bit less than he needs as each chapter of his career unfolds. Naivety, and a positive attitude so strong it often overpowers common sense, join to make 'I Can Fly' a fascinating read. Located in northeast Collier County, Lake Trafford is approximately 1500 acres of natural beauty. Home to native birds, alligators and other swamp creatures. Trafford is regarded as a premiere fishing lake. Crappie, Bass, Bluegill and Shellcracker call the lake home.... Spend some time in one of the most beautiful unspoiled areas of Southwest Florida.
June is ''LGBTQ Pride Month'', a time to reflect on and celebrate lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer history. Undoubtedly, and like clockwork, some will wonder: But what about ''Straight Pride'' or ''White Pride''? And some people will say, ''Oh every day is ''Straight Pride'' or ''White Pride'' Day. Really? Many people are concerned about facial recognition software being used to track their movements and the threat to civil liberties that this software poses. While this issue is being debated, there are steps you can take to avoid some facial recognition software, both online and in person. As voter ID laws were first cropping up decades ago, Democrats fought them tooth and nail, insisting that they would be an impossible barrier to scale for the nation's most vulnerable voters, especially older people and people of color. The fact that almost anyone, including the elder and people of color had ID's, (how could they get on an airplane or cash a welfare check without it), and that all States issue photo ID's upon request to non-drivers, was conveniently ignored. Project Artichoke or Operation Artichoke, was a CIA research project that began in 1951 and whose aim was to determine whether a person could be forced via hypnosis or forced drug addiction such as morphine or LSD, to commit an act of attempted assassination.
Are you considering buying a travel trailer in the future? If so, proceed with caution. Even the most aesthetically pleasing travel trailers can be deceiving. Here's what the manufacturers and RV dealers aren't willing to tell you about travel trailers. For those of my generation who do not, and cannot, comprehend why Facebook exists, I am trying to make friends outside of Facebook while applying the same principles. The Stella Awards were inspired by Stella Liebeck. In 1992, Stella, then 79, spilled a cup of McDonald's coffee onto her own lap, burning herself. A New Mexico jury awarded her $2.9 million in damages. Ever since, the name ''Stella Award'' has been applied to any wild, outrageous, or ridiculous lawsuits - including some infamous bogus cases. All visitors to Yellowstone National Park are warned to give the animals plenty of space, but sometimes that advice goes in one ear and out the other, as one tourist recently demonstrated. Ignoring official advice not to pet the fluffy cows, the man approached a particularly large bison and asked if he could stroke its fur. Excited, he then asked whether he could ride it before being startled back by the animal's bristling reaction.
NPR editor Uri Berliner issued a lengthy rebuke of NPR's media coverage of major news stories over the last few years, such as the Hunter Biden laptop and the COVID lab leak theory, and called out the outlet's ''efforts to damage'' Trump's presidency. In economy on a domestic (narrow body mainline aircraft flight) there are generally three seats on each side of the plane. Correct default armrest allocation is as follows: The passenger at the window gets the armrest next to the window, the passenger at the aisle gets the armrest next to the aisle, and the passenger in the middle gets two armrests.

Whether they are ranked for their rarity, uneasiness, or gore, here are some of the strangest medical cases taken on by the doctors in the hit television show ''Grey's Anatomy'' that will keep your interest, and maybe even make your skin crawl. Like the case of the young woman with worms in her stomach, that one gave me the heebie-jeebies!
The topic of laundry is more central to our lives than we think. Some 70 or so years ago, we thought we were done with it, thanks to machines that did all the work for us. But then regulations got involved and ruined those machines, reducing their functionality. Then the detergents were wrecked through the same means, eliminating the phosphates that had always been in soap. As millions of spectators gazed at the phenomenon from the ground, Elon Musk's Starlink satellite captured the eclipse during an orbit. And, Astronauts from NASA witnessed the event from space as the International Space Station shared a clip that showed the shadow of the moon passing over the Earth. The issue is that athletes are not heroes just because of their job. Day to day they do not do sacrifice or put their lives on the line. They work hard at their sport, but they do it because they love it. The professional athletes, in reality, just go out on the field and play their sport. They hit a ball in tennis. Catch, tackle, and throw in football. Dribbles, pass and shoot in basketball. Their profession alone doesn’t exemplify heroism. Because they have electric motors, ebikes aren't like regular bicycles. However, national parks treat them effectively as equals, essentially allowing them in the same places as conventional bikes, as long as they can also be pedaled.
Towns and tourism businesses and organizations in the path of the 2024 eclipse are planning events. Some are free, some are big bucks. Concerns about the effects of media on consumers the and extent of media bias go back to the 1920s. Commentator Walter Lippmann noted that citizens have limited personal experience with government and the world and the media, through their stories, place ideas in citizens' minds. These ideas become part of the citizens' frame of reference and affect their decisions. Lippmann's statements led to the hypodermic theory, which argues that information is ''shot'' into the receiver's mind and readily accepted. The author of this article, posted in 2016, made a plan to visit every one of the 71 Minnesota State Parks, including details of the ones she'd already visited, with a list of all of them. Hopefully, she'll post an update and let us all know how she did. For weeks, experts have been warning people not to look at the total solar eclipse without the proper safety gear. Did you listen? Looking at the sun, during an eclipse or any other time, without certified viewing glasses can cause permanent eye damage.
American has created a system to encourage you to join their frequent flyer program – but credit an unintended incentive to hold off cancelling trips you aren’t going to take until as late as the day of travel, so that you have longer to use your travel credits. Southwest Airlines, in contrast and to its credit, does not expire its credits.
The American railroads are reminiscent of a bygone era. These were the trains that tamed the Wild West, fueled the Gold Rush, and served as the backbone of the Industrial Revolution. At its peak, it was the most luxurious mode of transportation that money could buy. I've been getting emails (and maybe you have as well) telling me to stock up on groceries, booze, and toilet paper before the 2024 Eclipse, and to stay home and lock the door and load the shotgun. The 2017 Eclipse was pretty peaceful, why the craziness about this one? For years, The Epoch Times was a small, low-budget newspaper with an anti-China slant that was handed out free on New York street corners. But in 2016 and 2017, the paper made two changes that transformed it into one of the country’s most powerful digital publishers.
How many times have we seen a toddler staring wide-eyed at a cell phone in their hands? How early is too early? The sun rises in the east and sets in the west. A glimpse at the map of the April 2024 North American solar eclipse, however, shows a path from west to east. What gives? The answer lies in the relationship between the rotation of Earth and the orbit of the moon, this path moves in the opposite direction of the sun's apparent trek over Earth each day. But during an eclipse, the motion of the moon's shadow-not the sun-is what matters. Earth rotates from west to east. The Mason Wing Walking business in Sequim, Washington, that allowed paying thrill-seekers to clamber over the wings of a 1940s Stearman biplane while in flight is no more. Here are four reasons why Trump could win the November 2024 election against Democratic incumbent Joe Biden.
Joe Biden has said he attended Delaware State University, a mostly Black college, on several occasions, and this is not the only time he's faced controversy for embellishing his own biographical history. He also has said he was the first in his family to attend college and that his relatives were coal miners -- two statements he later recanted. Joe Biden graduated from the University of Delaware, not Delaware State University. The Tennessee Senate passed a bill with wording that targets the controversial "chemtrails" conspiracy theory, calling for a ban on the intentional injection of chemicals or substances into the atmosphere to affect temperature, weather or sunlight. It will be interesting to see how they plan on enforcing it. Bert Lahr, who played the cowardly lion in “The Wizard of Oz,” went on to star in a famous ad campaign with the premise that fighting temptation is futile. In 2017, an estimated 215 million U.S. adults (88% of U.S. adults) viewed the solar eclipse, either directly or electronically. They experienced the Moon pass in front of the Sun, blocking part or all of our closest star’s bright face. The eclipse in 2024 could be even more exciting due to differences in the path, timing, and scientific research.
New speculation about the toddler's death and pressure to force DNA testing of evidence have revived scrutiny of what was known as the ''crime of the century.'' Howard Hughes called it the H-4 Hercules-a fitting name for the largest and most powerful airplane of its time. The press, however, dubbed his prized creation the ''Spruce Goose''-a name Hughes despised. But the label stuck, and the big airplane became another part of Hughes' enigmatic legacy-a story of how one man's uncompromising ambition propelled his remarkable ascendancy and eventual descent into madness. FATHER GUIDO SARDUCCI has spent the past twenty years living and working in the United States as gossip columnist and rock critic for the Vatican newspaper L'Osservatore Romano. Recently, he was also appointed Assistant Managing Editor for the Vatican Inquirer. American audiences first became familiar with Father Sarducci during the golden years of ''Saturday Night Live,'' when he appeared as a commentator on ''Weekend Update.'' He's also been a frequent and welcome guest on ''The Tonight Show''. I've noticed the young men on ''The Weather Channel'' are wearing suits that my dad would have said he ''wouldn't wear to a dog fight''. Suit coats that aren't long enough to cover your rear end, and trousers so slim these guys look like they are wearing leotards. Will the trend come back to what the sign in an area of ''Men's Wearhouse'' that I visited recently, that said ''CLASSIC CUT''? Maybe.
Actor Larry David was right about the last one. FTX, founded in 2019, quickly rose to international prominence through a series of high-profile acquisitions, aggressive marketing strategies and low trading fees. In 2022 it all came crashing down.
Many people in Washington, D.C. are infected with TDS. Although comical, it is rather pathetic that his most prominent critics never hired, managed or did a payroll. Yet, they are somehow experts on Trump’s finances. Donald Trump was a man who made billions, lost billions, hired people and lifted people out of poverty to middle-class incomes. Easter is a festival and holiday celebrated by millions of people around the world who honor the resurrection of Jesus from the dead, described in the New Testament as having occurred three days after his crucifixion at Calvary. It is also the day that children excitedly wait for the Easter bunny to arrive and deliver their treats of chocolate eggs. President Joe Biden is facing criticism from Donald Trump's campaign and religious conservatives for proclaiming March 31 - which corresponds with Easter Sunday this year - as ''Transgender Day of Visibility.''
If you are headed to South Dakota on vacation, don't miss Custer State Park in the beautiful Black Hills. The largest State Park in the United States, and bigger than many National Parks with, they say, as many or more Buffalo than Yellowstone. Not to be missed! A year or so ago, I started to put together a first aid kit for the motorhome. Traveling alone, often in wilderness areas, I felt I needed a good one, and even purchased a gunshot trauma kit, something often carried by gun enthusiasts when they go to the shooting range. You just never know when something might happen. Streaming services have transformed the way we view film and television, leaving us isolated on our couches, subject to the suggestions of an algorithm. But a small group of film buffs with a fondness for physical media are hoping to lure people back into the real world. Like me, with hundreds of DVD's accumulated over the years, offering them for free rental on the honor system in front of the Minnesota family lake cabin every Summer.
Concrete shoes, or concrete overshoes, is a method of murder or body disposal usually associated with criminals such as the Mafia. It involves weighing down the victim, who may be dead or alive, with concrete and throwing them into water in the hope the body will never be found. The term has become a euphemism for a threat of death by criminals. While a common trope in fiction, only one real-life case has ever been authenticated, but it was done once on an episode of ''The Sopranos''. Hospice is medical care for people with a short life expectancy, when cure isn't an option, and the focus shifts to, as they say, symptom management and quality of life. But, it really is a place to go to die, with all the morphine the patient needs or wants, life saving techniques are stopped, and the body starts to shut-down. When my wife went into the program in 2019, I asked the doctor how long she might have, ''six months'' was the answer. She lasted six days. There are people who work for NBC News that are mad management hired a Republican. They still can't figure out why most Americans don't trust journalists to tell the truth. Bipolar disorder, formerly known as manic depression, is a mental condition that triggers significant shifts in mood, activity levels, concentration, and energy. These moods range from depressive episodes of feeling sad, indifferent, or hopeless to manic episodes of feeling irritable, elated, or extremely energetic.
A geosynchronous orbit is a special position high above the Earth that allows an object to keep pace with the rotation our planet, and are vital for communications and Earth-monitoring satellites. All communication satellites orbit the earth about 22,000 miles above the equator in ''geostationary orbit''', a ''sweet spot'' where a satellite goes around the earth in exactly one day. Since the earth is spinning at once a day too, it seems like the satellite is just parked in space above a specific spot. There is something undeniably odd about the combination of pastors and private jets. Whatever your personal views on Jesus, Christianity, and Religion, there is no denying that the Jesus of the Bible is a figure who lives meagerly and repeatedly opposes the rich and powerful. Yet, for many mega pastors across America, it's all part of their ''Prosperity Gospel.'' For the past two decades, female presidential candidates on TV have been made in her image. Finally, that’s beginning to change. On January 1, 1914, a flying boat took off St. Petersburg, Florida, in front of a cheering crowd of 3,000 and the Mayor. It safely arrived in Tampa, a journey of about 24 miles, 23 minutes later. The first flight carried a pilot and a single paying passenger.
2016 Presidential Debate - Clinton vs.Trump
Hillary Clinton's attempted put-down of Donald Trump was crushed by one 5 word ad-lib response from him. One of the most memorable presidential debate moments of all time.
Sailors on old ships had a different way of going to the bathroom than we do today. They did not have flush toilets or plumbing systems, but they had a special place on the ship called the head. The head was the name for the ship’s toilet, which was located at the front or bow of the ship. Is your phone always listening to you? Does Google keep a log of everything you say? And if so, what can you do about it? In an age where every device has a microphone and they're made by companies who profit by tracking what you do, these are valid questions. Let's take a look at the facts behind Google's recordings and how to stop your phone from listening to you. Vice President Kamala Harris keeps trying to convince voters she has what it takes to be president in the likely event that Joe Biden suffers a fatal fall before Election Day. It's going about as well as you'd expect.
From the article: ''As the campaign for the White House kicks into full gear, the contenders are offering an onslaught of holiday-themed merchandise, many of which capture some of the surreal aspects of the 2024 race. Donald Trump, for instance, is embracing his status as the first former president to face criminal charges by emblazoning his mug shot on Christmas sweaters, gift wrap and stockings.'' In theory, taking a cruise seems like a great idea for a family vacation. You get to see many different places, you enjoy the open ocean, and there are so many things to do onboard. But, that's what cruise lines want you to think. There are many things you don't see being advertised, like small rooms and crowded pools, to name a few. A common belief about Lake Tahoe is that the Mafia used it as a burial ground for unfortunate rivals. This happened, presumably, in the area’s early days as a casino destination. Another story involves alleged sightings of a large aquatic creature that locals christened Tahoe Tessie. Conspiracy theories are dangerous in more ways than one, and American Conspiracy: The Octopus Murders is-among many, many things-an exposé about the irrevocable damage that can come from falling down the rabbit hole. Netflix's four-part true-crime docu-series is an investigation into what its primary subject believed was ''the political conspiracy of the century.''
Calling them ''Luft Gangsters'' (Air Gangsters) Joseph Goebbels told the German people that downed U.S. airmen would kill any women or children they encountered, and they should be murdered rather than being captured. Dozens of airmen were killed. This documentary is about one ''Tuskegee airman'' who was shot down, captured and sent to a POW camp. Click open and watch the trailer, or rent the movie.
This week we lost our long time friend and frequent traveling companion, Sandra Barth, wife of my old friend from the banking business, Don. ''Sandy'' fought Multiple Sclerosis valiantly for years, with Don serving as her caregiver. In a nursing home in recent months, Don would visit her twice a day, morning and afternoon, and she always looked forward to seeing him. We will all miss her terribly.
If your adult beverages are leaving your digestive system in distress, there’s one simple explanation: Alcohol is an irritant to the GI system, and it can inflame the lining of the digestive tract, from the esophagus to the large intestine. When the world seems like it's going crazy and the news cycle is filled with a constant stream of bad news, you might be tempted to make some dumb financial decisions like go all in for a ''better'' bartering system based on commodities like gold or silver. But before you invest all your money into precious metals, let's get the facts straight.
